Fusing her educational background in graphic design, her passion for healthy living and her love for all things food, Callie England created Rawxies to inform, inspire and most importantly instigate change.
Rawxies are different from most traditional low carb/low sugar products, because Rawxies do not contain artificial sweeteners. Traditional low sugar products are often overflowing with what is labeled as ‘sugar alcohols’ – which, are known to produce many unpleasant side effects such as severe bloating and stomach cramping. Moreover, artificial sweeteners in general have been linked to anxiety, headaches, skin irritations, chest pains, mood swings, and itchy eyes (just to name a few). Even the newest sweetener on the market, sucrolose, contains chlorine, a well-known carcigen. Chlorine has been used in poisons gas, disinfectants, pesticides and plastics. Rawxies is committed to providing low sugar snacks that do not poison the human body.
Rawxies are different from most traditional raw food bars in a few different ways. For starters, Rawxies are an oat-based product, as opposed to a date or nut based bar. By using oats, Rawxies provides it’s consumers with a slow-digesting product that will sustain satiation for an extended period of time. Compared to the alternative nut/date based bars, Rawxies also contain 60% less sugar per caloric gram. On average, one package of Rawxies has 5-6 grams of sugar, whereas some alternatives have up to 20 grams. Thus, Rawxies are a suitable snack for anyone who may be watching their sugar intake.
Rawxies are considered a pre-digested food, because they are not heated above 105 degrees. Heating food above this point kills it’s natural enzymes. Enzymes are what our body produces to break down certain foods. However, if the food is ‘living’, the body does not need to produce enzymes and therefore the food can digest itself. Predigested foods (those that are not heated above 105 degrees) are easily digested by the body and are a great option for anyone suffering from digestive disorders.
